Senso de coerência de cuidadores e percepção da saúde bucal de crianças com deficiência intelectual
Resumo
Objetivo: Avaliar o Senso de Coerência (SOC) de cuidadores de crianças com deficiência intelectual e seu impacto na percepção sobre a saúde bucal dos filhos. Métodos: Estudo transversal com 30 cuidadores de crianças de 6 a 14 anos diagnosticadas com Síndrome de Down, Paralisia Cerebral, Transtorno do Espectro Autista, Hidrocefalia ou Deficiência Intelectual, atendidas em centro especializado de Teresina, Brasil. Aplicou-se entrevista estruturada e a escala SOC-13 (13–65 pontos), além de exame clínico infantil para experiência de cárie (CPO-D e ceo-d). Os dados foram analisados por estatística descritiva e regressão de Poisson (p<0,05). Resultados: A média de idade foi 10,6±4,1 anos; maioria meninos (63,6%). Cuidadores eram principalmente mães (90%), com renda de 1–2 salários (53,3%). SOC médio foi 48±6,8, alto em 53,3%, associado à renda familiar (p=0,024). Não houve associação entre SOC e experiência de cárie. Conclusão: O SOC foi elevado e influenciado pela renda, mas não pela cárie infantil
