Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To report an awareness-raising experience among high school adolescents about the risks of using electronic cigarettes and the false sense of safety promoted by these devices. METHODS: This is a descriptive experience report study. RESULTS: There were indications of improved student perception regarding the harms of vaping, especially pulmonary and cardiovascular damage. DISCUSSION: The effectiveness of the interactive methodology in promoting critical reflection among young people was highlighted, as well as its reproducibility in other educational settings. CONCLUSION: The project was effective in fostering a more informed stance that is resistant to social influences, underscoring the importance of continuous educational actions to prevent the use of harmful substances among adolescents.
