EFEITO FÉRULA NA REABILITAÇÃO PROTÉTICA DE DENTES TRATADOS ENDODONTICAMENTE

Resumo

Considerando que a estrutura coronária remanescente (férula) no preparo dentário é fundamental para o prognóstico do tratamento que envolve restaurações indiretas em dentes tratados endodonticamente, foi realizada revisão da literatura sobre o efeito férula na reabilitação protética. Foi verificado que a férula deve ter 1,5-2 mm de altura. É relatado que a férula aumenta a resistência à fratura de dentes tratados endodonticamente e, consequentemente, sua sobrevida. Além disso, sua altura provou ser mais importante do que instalação de retentor intrarradicular como pino de fibra de vidro. Concluiu-se que a presença de férula é responsável por melhorar as propriedades da restauração em estudos clínicos e laboratoriais. O efeito férula é importante para a reabilitação protética bem-sucedida em dentes tratados endodonticamente. Dessa forma, nem sempre é necessário instalar pino intrarradicular, o que favorece o prognóstico do tratamento.
