Abstract

Objective: to evaluate the quality of life and associated factors in cancer patients affected by COVID-19. Methods: cross-sectional study carried out with 1042 individuals affected by COVID-19 who responded to an electronic form made available on the Google Forms platform. Sociodemographic aspects, clinical conditions and quality of life were evaluated using the SF-36 Questionnaire. Results: the sample consisted of 45 individuals with cancer (53.18±17.54 years, 51.1% female and 48.9% male). It was observed that the quality of life of these individuals was negatively impacted, with a median of 17.25 (first quartile: 1.06; third quartile: 47.81). Among the factors associated with worse quality of life, the presence of pre-existing lung diseases and smoking stood out (p<0.05). Conclusions: Individuals with cancer affected by COVID-19 have significant impairment in quality of life, with pre-existing lung diseases and smoking identified as factors associated with an unfavorable outcome.
