Abstract

Objective: To present, through a literature review, current anti-hemorrhagic treatments for patients with hemophilia who undergo tooth extractions. Methodology: This is a literature review. The search for articles was carried out in the Pubmed, web of science and scopus databases. Articles in the English language, available in full between the years 2013 and 2024, were included. Searches that duplicated between databases, incomplete publications or that did not fit the scope of the research were excluded. Results: In total, 13 articles were included in the review. The main therapies found were: Desmopressin, Antifibrinolytic agents, Ankaferd Blood Stooper (ABS), Local dressing (TachoComb), Tranexamic acid, Prophylaxis with emicizumab, Thrombin-gelatin (Floseal) and others. Conclusion: There are a series of anti-hemorrhagic treatments for hemophiliac patients undergoing tooth extraction. These therapies vary depending on the specific hemostatic defect, its severity and the type of surgical procedure.
