Objective: To verify the use of the Neck Disability Index (NDI) scale to quantify improvement after physiotherapy intervention in nonspecific neck pain (NCP) and the outcomes. Methods: The PubMed, Cochrane, Virtual Health Library (BVS) and Scielo databases were consulted in the period April/May 2020, restricted to the last 10 years and used the terms: neck disability index; non-specific neck pain. Results: 183 articles were found after removing duplicates, 57 articles after reading the title and abstract and four articles after reading the full text. Conclusion: The NDI scale can be used as an instrument to assess disability before and after physical therapy intervention and present positive outcomes to quantify improvements in disability rates after intervention. Despite the variability in the results of the studies, a significant improvement in the disability of people with ICD quantified by the NDI scale was observed after physical therapy intervention in the period of six to 11 weeks.
