Resumen

Objetivo: Verificar el uso de la escala Neck Disability Index (NDI) para cuantificar la mejoría después de la intervención fisioterapéutica en el dolor de cuello inespecífico (DCI) y los resultados. Métodos: Se consultaron las bases de datos PubMed, Cochrane, Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS) y Scielo en el período abril/mayo de 2020, restringidas a los últimos 10 años y se utilizaron los términos: neck disabled index; non-specific neck pain. Resultados: Se encontraron 183 artículos después de eliminar los duplicados, 57 artículos después de leer el título y el resumen y cuatro artículos después de leer el texto completo. Conclusión: La escala NDI puede utilizarse como instrumento para evaluar la discapacidad antes y después de la intervención de fisioterapia y presenta resultados positivos para cuantificar las mejoras en las tasas de discapacidad tras la intervención. A pesar de la variabilidad en los resultados de los estudios, se observó una mejora significativa en la discapacidad de las personas con DCI, cuantificada mediante la escala NDI, tras la intervención de fisioterapia en un período de seis a once semanas.
