Trasplante de células madre hematopoyéticas en pacientes con drepanocitosis

Objetivo: realizar una revisión integrativa sobre el uso del TCMH en el AF. Método: revisión bibliográfica integrativa utilizando la base de datos PUBMED, y los siguientes descriptores, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation e sickle cell disease. Resultados: el TCMH es seguro y eficaz para pacientes pediátricos con AF, los que no tienen un donante HLA idéntico y existe la posibilidad de realizar un TCMH haploidéntico. En pacientes adultos o con secuelas severas del AF, se están entrenando condiciones de intensidad reducida para mejorar los estadios. Los estudios con células mesenquimales tienen el potencial de mejorar los resultados de los pacientes sometidos a TCMH. Conclusión: para la población pediátrica falciforme con síntomas graves, se debe ofrecer el TCMH para mejorar la calidad de vida, incluso con un donante haploidéntico. Para la población adulta será necesaria una valoración individualizada, teniendo en cuenta la experiencia del equipo trasplantador y las condiciones clínicas del paciente.Citas
