Expansión rápida del maxilar en el tratamiento del síndrome de apnea obstructiva del sueño en niños y adolescentes: revisión sistemática

Resumen

Objetivos: El presente estudio pretende verificar la influencia de la rápida expansión maxilar en el tratamiento del síndrome de apnea obstructiva del sueño en niños, así como la estabilidad de sus efectos a largo plazo. Metodología: Se realizó una búsqueda de datos en bases de datos electrónicas (Pubmed, Web of Science y Scopus), hasta abril de 2019. Resultados: En general, la ERM contribuyó a una mejoría significativa de los signos y síntomas del SAOS en niños, pero en algunos casos , fue necesario un enfoque multidisciplinario para la remisión completa de los síntomas. Conclusión: el grado de mejoría de los signos y síntomas del SAOS resultante de la MER parece estar relacionado con el nivel del índice de apnea e hipopnea inicial, y este procedimiento mostró estabilidad a largo plazo, especialmente cuando la intervención se realiza lo más temprano posible. y otros factores no presentan obstrucciones.
